PHASE I: COMMON RACE TRACK PROBLEMS


A complaint can be lodged by a spectator, employee, or racer, albeit most complaints are from the customer.  Below is a gallery of a few race tracks that I recently visited.  Although the purpose of these pictures was not to point out problems but rather to assess the types and amount of facilities at each site, upon reviewing the pictures it became blatantly obvious that there were many problems. 

These photos were taken all over America and cover the: the Northeast, northern Midwest, and Southwest. 

  • Complaint: Poor Cleanliness

  • Cause: Garbage piling up within the 1st hour of the gates opening.

  • Correction: Sealed Bleachers and hiring local kids to constantly pick up garbage. 

  • Complaint: Poor Cleanliness & Bad Maintenance

  • Cause: Garbage laying around - Unsafe walking surface.

  • Correction: Hire local local kids who's sole responsibility is to collect garbage.   Patching has obviously failed; time to repave the entire area.

  • Complaint: Poor Odor & Unprofessional Image

  • Cause: Dumpster located parallel to spectator entrance.

  • Correction: Re-locate dumpster and use a solid fence to enclose the dumpster that is painted in accordance to the tracks theme. 

  • Complaint: Poor Organization & Bad Maintenance

  • Cause: Garbage containers stored underneath the bleachers.

  • Correction: Build a utility shed or fence in an area to store containers and picnic tables when not in use.

  • Complaint: Unprofessional Image & Poor Organization. 

  • Cause: VHT containers and non-safety trucks in spectators line of site. 

  • Correction: Create garages to store materials and vehicles. 


 
  • Complaint: Unprofessional Image & Poor Organization. 

  • Cause: Eight objects haphazardly placed by the fuel station.  

  • Correction: Create separate storage containers for the safety equipment, trash cans, tractor, and RV.  Barn should be repainted the same color as the track's color scheme.

*Race track located directly underneath the bridge.

  • Complaint: Poor Safety

  • Cause: Fence not high enough - security personnel not in position. 

  • Correction: Enlarge the existing fence and post security there.

  • Complaint: Bad Maintenance & Unprofessional Image

  • Cause: The two buildings have 5 different colors on the facade

  • Correction: Power wash and paint the buildings in accordance to the tracks color scheme.

  • Complaint: Poor Safety

  • Cause: Ability to stand right next to retaining walls.

  • Correction: Fence in area and hire security. 

  • Complaint: Unsafe Driving Conditions

  • Cause: Design of track faces due west, block vision of driver. 

  • Correction: Fatal Flaw - None.

  • Complaint: Poor Safety. 

  • Cause: Easy Access to the top of the control tower. 

  • Correction: Locked Gates and repair equipment not left laying around.

  • Complaint: Poor Safety

  • Cause: Grand Stands lack a barrier at the top. 

  • Correction: Install fencing.

  • Complaint: Poor Safety

  • Cause: Grand Stands lack a barrier at the top. 

  • Correction: Install fencing.
